Large German Resin Amber Bead Pueblo 24" strand of antique greasy-greenLarge German resin amber bead, with 2 holes for creative design! 34mm diameter x 22mm thick, with 2mm holes. Approximately 100 years old, found in Mauritania and Niger. This is an imitation amber, (like Bakelite, referred to as Phenolic Amber) made from plant resin in Germany in the early 1900's and traded in West Africa. These have become quite rare. A wonderful focal bead element.
