2025 Louise Chéreau (Vices & Vertus) ‘Colère’ Folle Blanche, Loire Valley, France Condesa Bottled June 2025The folle blanche grape, indigenous to Frances west coast, is principally known for eau de vie production, but is also grown near Nantes to be a racy shellfish pairing, compatible and contrasting with the more well known Muscadet wines made from melon de bourgogne. Colre which translates to anger, referencing the oceans profound effect on the wine, is a crisp, saline, citrusy, and low alcohol white wine that is undeniably expressive of sea spray.
