This is a service used Indian Wars M1874 Dyer cartridge box used by the U. S. Cavalry. This example shows very heavy service use and is missing much of the leather finish. It is marked on the reverse side to ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL. The box features riveted belt loops on the reverse, and a wool lined inner pocket that is now missing all of its wool. The leather is very worn, with heavy cracking and crazing in areas. The
