there is more warmth and golden-ness to the finish than is coming across in the photos

most of them were smashed long ago to retrieve the coins inside

I'd guess it dates to the early 20th century if not a little earlier

with this terrific array of unusual geometric forms dangling from every other link of the chain

--and would love to see a whole collection of them
