This is a gorgeous example of an Early American powder horn with a retained wooden plug and riveted construction. Part of the original leather carrying strap is still attached to the throat. The bottom of the horn has 8 tacks holding the butt in, with lovely stars engraved around them. There is a strange 19th century tag reading 24 on the butt, and appears to have been sealed with something. The throat retains a long
