This is a truly interesting "AMERICAN" Presentation Musket given to a Sergeant in the 11th New York Artillery in approximately 1819. Raised in 1806 in New York City due to rising tensions with Great Britain the 11th became the 2nd Battalion of the 3rd Regiment of Artillery. In 1812 it was designated the 11th Regiment of Artillery. Lieutenant William Kumbel served as adjutant in the War of 1812 and was commissioned Captain
