I believe with the conflicting meanings of 1 and 4 whistles relating to whether issued as short or long sounds

and a number that are truly marbled in color

I love that the color and style of the text is completely different on opposite sides of this one

Jeffreys drawing 1970s Towle Walnut Shell GamesA super handsome set of antique checkers in their original slide top box, on the underside of which with their one time owner wrote "1897" and "30 pieces." The embossed checkers, with crowns on one side and concentric rings on the other, are enameled in lush red and black, with a couple of the red ones bordering on orange. Beautiful, and in great shape, ready to play! Box: 6 3 8 x 3 x 1 9 16 t. Checkers 1 1 8 d. The "Schutz Marke" at the lower corners
