Description

I've looked and looked

because they are such lovely and useful things

But even amid many

which I think just makes it all the more interesting

Certainly this was made to function as a frame

Mary Penny's Lovely and Lyrical Fuchsia Flowers Watercolor, Early 1900s antique wooden bookends I've looked and lookedThough the flowers here are "Fuchsia Flowers," the color of them is more blood red, such that at first I wanted to call them Bleeding Hearts, and they're somewhat similar the way they hang down. Really quite a lyrical watercolor, with great combination of delicacy (those fine trails of orange stems) and boldness (lush green leaves). I have to think painted from nature by Mary Penny's of the "fifth class." Lovely. 7 3 4" x 5 1 8". Very good condition.
