There is a (partial) German paper label still adhered to the underside of the lid placing its making (or at least distribution) to Nuremberg, and then the word Mariposas, which in Spanish literally translates to "butterflies," an evocative descriptor for these tiny wicks held in wooden rounds, meant to be floated on lamp oil, and
