I am fairly certain this piece dates from sometime between 1890s-1930

making me love him all the more

it feels wonderful in the hand and is unique from every angle

This carved whimsy is quite the opposite of refined

making them great for playing on the go

Four Link Whittled Whimsy Chain minne I am fairly certain thisA simple but sweetly done whimsy chain with nice long links carved from one piece of wood, and a pretty old one I believe. I really like ones like this where you viscerally feel the hand of the maker whittling away; just perfectly imperfect. 8 3 4" l x 1 5 16" w x 3 8" thick and in very good condition, with no cracks or splits or any other flaws of note that I can see.
