This makes me purely happy. I'm always on the hunt for early handwritten rewards of merit, but never imagined such a charmer as this. And its small scale makes it seem especially miraculous for it to have survived 200 years; one thinks this speller was very proud of himself! 3 1 4" x 1 1 2". Ink on wove.
