Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, surrounding a central raised inscription of SCHLAGETER, topped by a Latin Cross, situated above a pair of crossed swords, the cross flanked by campaign plaques inscribed RHEIN RUHR 1923 24, the reverse with visible clips securing the obverse
