Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a propeller, anchor, and edelweiss, representing the Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, and Gebirgsjger, respectively, flanked by a date of 1940, topped by a raised inscription of NARVIK and a German national eagle perched on a wreathed mobile swastika, affixed with a magnetic metal backplate to a dark blue wool backer, the shield measuring 42 mm (w) x 92 mm (h), in better
